Dear Teachers, Students and Parents,
What a tumultuous time it's been over the last couple of days/weeks, with so many changes in such a short space of time. I sincerely hope your teaching has been able to continue and you're not unduly affected by the current situation.
We want to update you about important planning being implemented and considered to minimise the effect on the Series 1 (May/June) and Series 2 (August/September) examination sessions. Of course we will continue to monitor the situation closely in relation to Series 3.
On Thursday last week, the Board of Directors cancelled three important upcoming ANZCA events: the 2020 Graduation Ceremony and Concert, the Teachers' Conference 2020 and an upcoming Fellowship Examination. All the people connected with these events have now been notified.
At this stage regular examinations are likely to proceed (with strict hygiene guidelines), but because of the rapidly changing situation we will monitor this very closely and keep you updated.
We want to inform you about other measures being considered to assist with the smooth implementation of examinations:
Examinations over the internet by streaming video have already been an option for ANZCA Music Examinations for the past few years. We have systems in place to deal with the requirements for Sight Reading, Aural Tests and General Knowledge.
Video Recorded Examinations
ANZCA is also investigating the possibility of pre-recorded examinations provided a set list of conditions are met. We will keep you posted on this.
Change of regulations - FULL TRANSFER for all candidates unable to sit in Series 1 & 2
Any student enrolled for an examination in Series 1 or 2 will be offered a FULL transfer to a future series if they are unable to sit their examination for any reason. This is also likely for Series 3 examinations, but we will have a clearer picture a few weeks before the closing date of.
We are also finalising our procedure for the ANZCA workplace. If it is necessary for the ANZCA office to close for a period of time we are confident that business can continue, as we are all able to access ANZCA's important systems from home.
Should this situation occur please ensure communication is by email as phone may not be possible. The best way to receive short-term updates will be through the ANZCA Facebook page.
Be sure to "Like" the ANZCA Facebook page so you can receive notification of any updates.
**Please note, at this stage we prefer you avoid visiting the office in person.
We will continue to provide further updates in the coming weeks, especially in relation to Series 1 examinations in May/June.
We hope that the information here helps to clarify the situation and that the offer of a full transfer gives candidates the confidence to continue to plan for their examinations in 2020.
Please don't hesitate to make contact if we can assist you in any way.
